Today was all about rockets.  We spent all afternoon designing and building rockets with the objective of getting a ten second flight time.  Quinn and I spent a long time trying to figure out how to get our parachute to deploy.  At first, we launched it with a terrible nose cone.  The nose cone immediately came off and our parachutes caused large amounts of drag.  As the rocket started to come down, only one of our two parachutes deployed.  Luckily, the one parachute that worked substantially slowed our rocket and gave us a time of 4.5 seconds.  The second time we launched the rocket we decided to see how high we could get it without the parachutes.  Unfortunately, when we launched our rocket, one of the fins detached, causing drag and decreasing our height.  Time in the air was still 4.5 seconds.
