Today's class was also about momentum. Again, we talked about the law of conservation of momentum. Although you cannot see it in this picture, Mr. Blake is out of the frame catching the medicine ball that Cam just threw. It seems like the law of conservation of momentum is being broken in this picture because the medicine ball Cam just threw started with a momentum of zero and then changed momentum so there is no way that momentum was conserved. However, one has to realize that the whole system includes Cam on the danger board as well as the medicine ball. When Cam throws the medicine ball one way, Cam's momentum changes in the opposite direction. Therefore, momentum is conserved.
